Airbus has announced that it has secured orders for 60 A320 narrowbody planes and 10 A350 widebodies from undisclosed customers, boosting its sales just ahead of the resumption of the Paris Air Show after a four-year absence. The deals reached by Airbus are also inclusive of leasing companies and will boost the company's sales figures for June. The company's Chief Commercial Officer, Christian Scherer, expressed his optimism that the Paris Air Show, expected to start on 21st June, will bring in more widebody agreements, as it is the largest industry event where customers commit to purchasing large numbers of planes. Analysts have estimated that Airbus may receive more than 2,000 orders and commitments at the expo, which will take place on the outskirts of Paris.

With travel steadily rebounding, airlines and leasing companies are keen to make purchases of planes, as delivery times increase. In order to increase output, the companies have been rushing to place orders, however, the process has been hindered by supply-chain bottlenecks. Airbus's CEO, Guillaume Faury, has stated that he expects these bottlenecks to continue for a long time. Nonetheless, the company remains optimistic about securing more orders and making a strong showing at the Air Show.
