The National Coalition Party, which won the recent Finnish election, has announced eight of its members as ministerial candidates, with Petteri Orpo widely expected to take up the position of Prime Minister. This announcement comes shortly after the party declared Elina Valtonen, the deputy leader and lawmaker, as a nominee for the role of Foreign Minister, and Antti Hakkanen, a former justice minister and another deputy, as the candidate for Defense Minister in an email statement released on Sunday.
On the other hand, the Finns Party is expected to declare their ministerial candidates, including that of Finance Minister, later on Sunday.
Late last week, Finland's new ruling coalition revealed a series of initiatives aimed at reinvigorating the country's weak public finances and fostering growth, mainly through the sale of state-owned assets. These measures come amidst an ongoing economic challenge in the country, which has led to considerable decline in the country's government finances. These initiatives are aimed to refigure the economic path, leading to a better financial future for the nation.
