Two tropical storms are currently active in the Atlantic, setting a new weather record. The first storm, Tropical Storm Bret, has already passed over the Leeward and Windward Islands and is now moving towards the central Caribbean. It is expected to dissipate soon. The second storm, Tropical Storm Cindy, has just formed with winds of up to 45 mph. Forecasters expect it to avoid striking the Caribbean, thereby sparing the islands from a second storm.

This is the first time on record that two tropical storms have formed in the Atlantic region in June. According to Phil Klotzbach, a hurricane researcher at Colorado State University, this is the first time that two active storms have been recorded in the same month since 1968.

The US is currently experiencing a range of temperature trends across different regions. In the central part of the country, the intense heat is causing strain on the electric grid in Texas. However, a different weather pattern is occurring in the Northeast. Current temperatures in Central Park in June are 1.9F below the normal average, according to the National Weather Service. This means that people are likely using less electricity than they normally would in June.

This weather pattern has also appeared in other cities such as Boston, Trenton, Philadelphia, and Washington. The Northeast is experiencing low pressure systems, which are keeping the region cooler. The same systems are also causing the smoke choke in Manhattan, as well as causing high pressure that is raising temperatures to record highs in Texas and Mexico.

In other weather news, Canadian wildfires have caused poor air quality levels along Lake Michigan's west shore. In the UK, warmer-than-average temperatures are expected to continue into the weekend before returning to normal levels from Monday. Meanwhile, Spain is facing temperatures of up to 40C in the capital. In India, the country is experiencing some relief from the heat wave due to clouds and rains.
