China's leading car manufacturer, BYD Co., made a grand entrance into the premium electric vehicle sector by unveiling their latest model, the Denza N7, at a glamorous event in Beijing. The Denza N7 comes in six different versions, with a starting price of 301,800 yuan, which aligns well with market expectations. Pre-orders for the N7 have already surpassed 20,000 units since its initial showcasing during the Shanghai Auto Show in April, indicating strong consumer interest in the model.

During the unveiling event, BYD showcased the N7 in a giant exhibition hall, featuring five different-colored SUVs. This display attracted the attention of several hundred attendees, highlighting the anticipation surrounding this electric offering. Initially, the N7 will be exclusively available in mainland China.

BYD's strategy in the premium market does not end with the N7. Earlier this year, the company introduced the U8, an SUV falling under their Yangwang brand. Last month, they unveiled another higher-end range, the Fang Cheng Bao, which translates to Formula Leopard in English.

Analysts from Morgan Stanley, including Tim Hsiao and Cindy Huang, report that BYD has ambitious sales goals for the N7, expecting monthly sales to reach between 5,000 to 10,000 units by the end of the year. They also highlight the importance of monitoring the impact of the N7 on similar electric vehicle models such as Nio Inc.'s ES6 and Li Auto Inc.'s L7, as well as luxury brands' internal combustion engine models like BMW's X3 and Mercedes-Benz's GLC.

BYD's future plans include the introduction of two more SUVs and three sedans in the next three years, covering a wide price range of 300,000 to 800,000 yuan. This demonstrates their commitment to expanding their electric vehicle offerings and solidifying their position in the market.

Investors have shown confidence in BYD's prospects, with the company's stock rising 1.5% in Hong Kong on Tuesday following a 4.5% gain the previous day. Overall, BYD's stock has experienced a notable 38% increase so far this year.

BYD's recent success is evident in their record-breaking sales figures, with 251,685 new-energy vehicles sold in June alone. Furthermore, their deliveries of fully electric vehicles in the second quarter increased by almost 100% compared to the previous year, surpassing 352,000 units.

With the introduction of the Denza N7 and their robust sales performance, BYD aims to cement their position as a leader in the electric vehicle industry, while satisfying the growing demand for premium and eco-friendly transportation options.
