British rock legend Ozzy Osbourne has announced his withdrawal from the upcoming Power Trip music festival, citing ongoing health problems that have plagued his career in recent years. In a statement posted on Twitter, the 74-year-old icon revealed that his original plan was to return to the stage in the summer of 2024. However, his body has made it clear that he is not yet ready for such a demanding commitment.

Expressing his reluctance to deliver a subpar performance, Ozzy explained, "I am much too proud to have the first show that I do in nearly five years be half-assed." Rather than disappoint his fans, he made the difficult decision to step back from the festival. The rock legend expressed his gratitude to his supporters and assured them that the band replacing him at the event would be announced soon.

The Power Trip festival, set to take place in California, boasts an impressive lineup featuring renowned rock and metal icons like Guns N' Roses, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, and Metallica. Ozzy Osbourne, also known as the Prince of Darkness, was scheduled to join these legendary acts onstage for a highly anticipated performance.

Ozzy Osbourne's career took off as a member of the groundbreaking metal band Black Sabbath. Throughout his career, he has won multiple Grammy Awards for both his solo work and contributions with Black Sabbath. Renowned for his energetic and theatrical performances, Osbourne became famous for his eccentric behavior, such as tossing raw meat at concertgoers and famously biting the head off a bat thrown onstage (mistakenly believing it was fake).

In the 1990s, Ozzy and his wife, Sharon, founded the successful music festival Ozzfest, providing a platform for emerging metal bands like Slipknot. They also gained fame through the MTV reality show "The Osbournes," which documented their family life in Los Angeles in the early 2000s.

However, in 2022, they decided to return to their home in England, citing concerns about gun violence and high taxes. In recent years, Ozzy Osbourne's health has been a major concern. In January 2020, he revealed his Parkinson's diagnosis, followed by contracting COVID-19 in April 2022 and undergoing surgery two months later. In February of this year, he disclosed that a significant accident four years ago resulted in spinal damage, leading to his retirement from touring.

Reflecting on the unexpected ending of his touring career, Ozzy shared his disbelief, stating, "Never would I have imagined that my touring days would have ended this way." Despite these setbacks, the rock legend continues to be an influential figure in the music industry, leaving an indelible mark on the world of rock and metal with his distinctive style and unforgettable performances.
