Tesla is expanding its product lineup in China with the introduction of the Cyberquad, an electric quad bike designed specifically for children aged 8 to 12. Priced at $1,670, the Cyberquad takes inspiration from Tesla's futuristic Cybertruck and offers young riders a taste of electric mobility.
The Cyberquad has a range of 13 kilometers (8 miles) on a single charge and can operate for up to 1.5 hours. While its top speed is limited to just 8 kilometers per hour, the primary focus is on safety and providing a fun and thrilling experience for youngsters. The maximum recommended weight for riders is 50 kilograms (110 pounds), ensuring that it is suitable for most children in the target age group.
This electric quad bike was originally unveiled as a concept in 2019 and has already been successful in other countries. However, the Chinese market holds a special significance for Tesla as the country is the world's largest market for electric vehicles. Tesla's factory in Shanghai, which produces over half of the company's electric vehicles globally, is a testament to the importance of the Chinese market. In June alone, the company delivered an impressive 93,680 EVs from the Shanghai plant, marking a notable 20% increase compared to the same month last year.
By introducing the Cyberquad in China, Tesla aims to capture the enthusiasm of young riders and instill a mindset of sustainable transportation from an early age. As these children grow up, they may become lifelong advocates for electric mobility, contributing to the further adoption of eco-friendly transportation solutions in the future.
With its impressive battery life, futuristic design, and the Tesla brand reputation, the Cyberquad is expected to attract significant interest from Chinese consumers. Sales for this electric quad bike will commence at 10 a.m., giving eager parents and children the opportunity to embark on an electrifying adventure.
