Walmart is cutting more than 2,000 jobs at five US e-commerce fulfillment centers, according to regulatory filings. The losses include over 1,000 positions at a warehouse in Fort Worth, Texas, nearly 600 jobs at a Pennsylvania fulfillment center, 400 in Florida, and around 200 in New Jersey.
The company did not quantify the cuts when it confirmed them last month. However, Walmart said it is growing in some areas as it adjusts stores and fulfillment centers to handle more online orders, and impacted workers may find other roles at the firm. The net impact on total employment remains uncertain.
