LVMH, the luxury conglomerate led by billionaire Bernard Arnault, has announced its agreement to become a premium sponsor of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. This marks the first time that LVMH, the most valuable company in Europe, has entered into such a sponsorship deal. The announcement brings an end to months of speculation regarding the conglomerate's involvement in the prestigious sporting event, which is set to begin in just one year's time.
The participation of LVMH, which owns renowned brands such as Louis Vuitton and Moet Hennessy, adds to the list of premium partners for the Paris Olympics, which already includes top French companies such as Orange SA and Carrefour SA. While some LVMH brands, like Hublot, have previously been official partners of global competitions, serving as the official timekeeper of the football World Cup, this sponsorship deal represents a significant milestone for the luxury conglomerate.
In addition to its sponsorship, LVMH's French jewelry brand, Chaumet, has been tasked with designing the Olympic and Paralympic games medals. Furthermore, wines and spirits produced by Moet Hennessy will be served to hospitality guests during the games. LVMH's involvement not only supports the success of the Olympic Games but also aims to enhance France's global appeal, according to a statement by Bernard Arnault.
The highly-anticipated Summer Olympics are scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11, predominantly in Paris, with certain events taking place in Marseille and Tahiti. Following the conclusion of the Olympics, the Paralympic Games will be held from August 28 to September 8. With LVMH's sponsorship, the 2024 Summer Olympics are set to receive a touch of luxury and style that showcases the French craftsmanship and prestige associated with the conglomerate's renowned brands.
