Two US lawmakers have discussed with Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen the possibility of bringing Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite system to Taiwan to help bolster its defense against China. During their talks with Tsai, US House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul and Arkansas Representative French Hill said it was one of the "constructive takeaways" from their visit to Taipei.
However, Taiwan’s presidential office declined to comment on Starlink. The Republicans did not reveal if they had discussed the matter with Musk or Starlink. The system has over 3,000 satellites in orbit and is operated by Musk’s Space Exploration Technologies Corp.
