The renowned actress had reportedly sustained fractures to her hip and thigh bone as a result of the accident. Her agent, Andrea Giusti, informed CNN that Loren underwent surgery and fortunately, the procedure was successful. Giusti further mentioned that they are now awaiting her recovery.
According to a statement on social media by the restaurant chain that shares her name, Sophia Loren is currently recuperating from the surgery. The statement expressed relief that everything went well and expressed optimism that she would be back on her feet soon. The Sophia Loren Restaurant, which has branches in Milan, Florence, and Rome Fiumicino, was going to be inaugurated by Loren herself in Bari on Tuesday, as per reports by Italian public broadcaster RAI.
