Tropical storm watches have been issued for several islands in the region, including Barbados, Dominica, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Antigua, Barbuda, Montserrat, and St. Kitts and Nevis. These watches are likely to be upgraded to warnings as the storm conditions become more imminent.

Tammy is forecast to bring heavy rainfall of three to six inches to the islands, with isolated areas possibly experiencing up to 10 inches by late Saturday. The US and British Virgin Islands, as well as Puerto Rico, may also receive rainfall amounts ranging from one to two inches, with isolated areas possibly seeing up to four inches.

The storm is then expected to follow a C-shaped path across the Atlantic, eventually emerging into the open ocean. Forecasts indicate that it could strengthen into at least a Category 1 hurricane, with wind speeds of 80 mph.

In the Eastern Pacific, another significant storm named Norma has rapidly intensified into a major hurricane with winds reaching 120 mph. Category 3 Norma is projected to move north, gradually weakening along its path. However, there is a possibility that it may make landfall near Cabo San Lucas, located at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California, early on Sunday. The region is expected to experience heavy rainfall starting late Friday.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Sanba is currently meandering around the Gulf of Tonkin in the Western Pacific.

In the United States, the west is bracing for record high temperatures, prompting heat advisories in coastal and inland areas of central and Southern California. Downtown Los Angeles is expected to reach 91°F, while nearby Burbank could experience temperatures as high as 93°F.

In Europe, most parts of the continent, excluding coastal areas, are set to experience above-average temperatures for the rest of the week. However, the Nordic region is expected to remain colder than normal, according to weather forecaster Maxar.

As these weather systems unfold, it is crucial for residents and visitors in the affected regions to stay informed about the latest updates and follow the guidance of local authorities to ensure their safety.
