Kylian Mbappé has broken yet another record by becoming Paris Saint-Germain's all-time leading scorer in Ligue 1. He achieved this feat in a crucial 3-1 victory over second-placed Lens, which now puts PSG nine points clear at the top of the table and on course for an 11th title.

The Frenchman scored the opener for his 139th league goal for the club and also beautifully set up Lionel Messi in a brilliant team goal. Mbappé has achieved this record in just 169 Ligue 1 games, overtaking Edison Cavani who took 200 league games to score 138 times for PSG in Ligue 1.

The victory was a much-needed one for PSG, who had been going through an indifferent period, losing two consecutive home games and giving title rivals Lens and Marseille hope. With only seven games left in the season, PSG coach Christophe Galtier knows that Lens and Marseille won't give up easily, so he's urging his team to remain focused.

After the match, Galtier told PSG TV, "If there was a match we had to win, it was this one, after the two straight losses at the Parc. Lens are one of our rivals and obviously it was important to win. We must continue to be focused and invest ourselves fully in the remaining matches."

Mbappé's achievement is yet another milestone in his young and impressive career. At only 24 years old, he has already won a World Cup, scored a hattrick in a World Cup final, and is the captain of the French national team. With his latest record-breaking feat, Mbappé has cemented his place as one of the greatest footballers of his generation.

PSG's next match is against Angers at the Stade Raymond-Kopa on April 21st. The fixture list looks favorable for PSG, but as Galtier emphasized, the team needs to show great determination and focus to maintain their top spot and clinch the title once again.
