Scottish actor Brian Cox, best known for his role as the fiery media mogul Logan Roy in HBO’s Succession, is set to play the villain in an upcoming James Bond-themed reality show. The Amazon Prime Video series, called “007’s Road To A Million”, will see contestants competing in teams of two to win a cash prize of up to £1 million. The show will take place in locations associated with the Bond franchise, including the Scottish Highlands, Venice, and Jamaica.
Contestants will have to answer questions hidden in different locations worldwide to advance to the next challenge, and they will be tormented by an enigmatic and mysterious character called The Controller, played by Brian Cox. The Controller is described as incredibly wealthy, villainous, and cultured, who revels in the increasingly difficult journeys and questions the contestants must overcome.
Brian Cox said that he enjoyed his role as both villain and tormentor, with a license to put the hopeful participants through the mangle. He also added that he got to see how ordinary people would cope with being on a James Bond adventure, and as they travel the world to some of the most iconic Bond locations, the show gets more intense and nail-biting.
“007’s Road To A Million” is a collaboration between Amazon Studios and the producers of the Bond films, Eon. The show will launch on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories later this year. Fans of Brian Cox and the James Bond franchise are eagerly anticipating the show's release and are excited to see how the Scottish actor will bring his unique style to the role of The Controller.
