Bola Tinubu, the President-elect of Nigeria, has returned to the country after spending over a month away in France. Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos state, arrived in the capital city of Abuja on Tuesday, as he prepares to take over from his ruling party ally, President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29th.

There had been speculation regarding Tinubu's prolonged absence from Nigeria, with some questioning his health. However, his spokesman, Tunde Rahman, confirmed that Tinubu had spent all his time in Paris and had not visited London or Saudi Arabia, contrary to previous reports.

Addressing a crowd of supporters upon his return, Tinubu dismissed the rumors surrounding his health, stating "I have rested, I'm refreshed and I'm ready for the task ahead. Forget about what the rumor mill may have told you. I'm strong, very strong."

While Tinubu's inauguration is set to go ahead as planned, there are ongoing lawsuits from the runners-up in the February 25th presidential election, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, who are both contesting Tinubu's victory. They claim that they were the rightful winners of the contest.

Despite the legal challenge, Tinubu is confident in his ability to lead Nigeria and has assured the country that he is fully prepared to take on the task ahead.
