The announcement of Congress' first list of 39 candidates comes on the heels of the BJP's recent candidate declaration, setting the stage for a high-stakes electoral battle. The Congress list highlights the party's stronghold in eight states and one union territory, showcasing its strategic approach in key regions across the country.

As part of a national alliance comprising more than 20 regional parties, the opposition is gearing up to challenge the formidable electoral presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BJP. With Modi's government emphasizing infrastructural development and social welfare programs, the opposition alliance faces the crucial task of presenting a cohesive platform to the electorate that resonates with their concerns and aspirations.

During a press conference in New Delhi, Congress treasurer Ajay Maken outlined the party's vision for addressing pressing issues such as high unemployment and farmer distress. In response to the ongoing farmer protests demanding a minimum support price for agricultural produce, Maken emphasized Congress' commitment to creating 3 million jobs within the federal government through a transparent job calendar upon assuming power.

In addition to job creation, the party plans to implement an apprenticeship program and provide support for budding entrepreneurs as part of its economic agenda. With the electoral battle heating up, the Congress party's articulated strategies aim to offer a comprehensive vision for inclusive growth and prosperity, setting the stage for a dynamic and competitive election season.
