French forward Kylian Mbappe is confident that he will have clarity on his future club before the start of the European Championship in June. As speculation swirls around his impending departure from Paris St Germain at the end of the season, the 25-year-old remains focused on his commitments with the national team, including the possibility of featuring in the Olympics in Paris, should he receive the green light.
In a press conference ahead of the friendly match against Germany, Mbappe maintained his silence on the subject of his next destination, stating, "I've always said that when I have something to announce, I'll do it as a man. I think my future will be resolved before the Euros, yes."
While expressing his eagerness to participate in the Olympics, the decision ultimately rests on factors beyond his control. The tournament's regulations require squads to consist primarily of players under the age of 23, with only a limited number of overage players permitted, thereby adding an element of uncertainty to Mbappe's potential involvement.
France's head coach, Didier Deschamps, emphasized the significance of the upcoming friendly matches, despite their non-competitive nature. "All matches are important. You're going to judge. Me and the staff will use them to get some more answers before the final list. There are always lessons to be learned," he remarked.
As the national team prepares to face Chile in another friendly and Austria in their Euros opener, Mbappe's future remains a focal point of speculation. The talented forward's decisive announcement regarding his next club is eagerly anticipated by fans and pundits alike, with the clock ticking towards the commencement of the prestigious tournament and the Paris Olympics later in the summer.
