Daniel Radcliffe, best known for his role as Harry Potter, and his long-term partner, actress Erin Darke, have announced the arrival of their first child. The baby's gender and birth date have not been revealed yet.
The couple, who have been together for over a decade, first met while filming the 2013 drama "Kill Your Darlings." They have since worked together on the dramedy "Don't Think Twice" in 2016, and Darke has appeared in several episodes of Radcliffe's TBS comedy series "Miracle Workers."
While promoting his role in "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story" last year, Radcliffe expressed his desire for his future children to experience the "wonderful" film sets, but without the fame that comes with it. He stated that the "film sets are wonderful places, but it's the fame side of it... that should be avoided at all costs."
Radcliffe, now 33, shot to fame at the age of 12 when he was cast as J.K. Rowling's fictional hero, the orphaned boy wizard Harry Potter. The first movie in the franchise, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone", was released in 2001 and became a blockbuster hit. The franchise went on to produce eight movies, making Radcliffe a household name around the world.
Fans of the couple have taken to social media to congratulate them on their new arrival and to wish them all the best as they embark on a new chapter in their lives.
