In a massive recall announcement, Honda Motor Co. has revealed that nearly 1.7 million of its popular CR-V and HR-V SUVs along with Civic and Acura Integra sedans are being called back due to potential steering problems while in motion. The affected vehicles, spanning model years 2023 to 2025, are at risk of encountering steering trouble originating from a manufacturing defect in the steering box assembly. This flaw could result in internal friction that may cause difficulties in steering the vehicles.
To address this issue, Honda has devised a plan to replace the worm gear spring in the vehicles and conduct any necessary grease redistribution or addition within the steering system, all at no cost to the owners. Notification of the recall is set to be sent out by mail on Nov. 18th to inform drivers of the upcoming actions required to rectify the looming steering concerns. Owners of the affected Honda and Acura models are urged to stay informed and take the necessary steps to ensure the safety and functionality of their vehicles.
