In the wake of Georgia's parliamentary election results favoring the ruling Georgian Dream party, three opposition parties have come together to denounce the outcome as rigged. HarrisX, a global market research firm, conducted an exit poll that revealed discrepancies in the official results reported by the Central Election Commission (CEC), suggesting possible voting irregularities.

The opposition parties, including the Strong Georgia bloc and the United National Movement, have called for street protests set to begin on Monday. Ana Dolidze of the Strong Georgia bloc emphasized the need for organized and peaceful demonstrations to challenge what they perceive as an undemocratic election outcome.

Georgian Dream, led by billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili, secured nearly 54% of the vote, according to the CEC. However, international monitoring missions have raised concerns over alleged voting violations, prompting calls for a thorough investigation by Western nations, including the European Union and the United States.

The analysis conducted by HarrisX has provided substantial evidence to support the opposition's claims of electoral fraud. The firm's findings, which show statistical discrepancies in over 8% of the total vote across multiple districts, cast further doubt on the integrity of the election results released by the CEC.

President Salome Zourabichvili and opposition leaders have vowed to maintain pressure through sustained protests, highlighting the significance of public demonstrations in upholding democratic principles. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has also urged for a thorough investigation into the reported irregularities, cautioning against potential external influences on Georgia's democratic process.

As Georgia stands at a crossroads between aligning with Russia or pursuing closer ties with the EU, the aftermath of this election holds significant implications for the country's geopolitical orientation. The CEC maintains that the election was conducted fairly, while prosecutors have initiated an investigation following allegations of fraud.

With mounting evidence of electoral discrepancies and widespread discontent among the opposition supporters, the outcome of Georgia's parliamentary election remains deeply contested. The upcoming protests signal a continued struggle for transparency, accountability, and the protection of democratic principles in the country's political landscape.
