Spanning over 36 hectares, the state-of-the-art facility will mark the company's fifth automobile assembly plant and focus on catering to both domestic and international markets. This strategic move comes as VinFast grapples with financial difficulties following its entry into the US market in 2022. Competing against established automotive giants and emerging Chinese rivals, VinFast is striving to carve out a niche for itself as a global EV brand.

While the company's first factory in Haiphong began operations in 2019, VinFast is also expanding its footprint internationally. Plans are underway to open a factory in India in the first half of next year, with groundbreaking already underway for a manufacturing plant in Indonesia. Despite a recent delay in the opening of a North Carolina factory, now scheduled for 2028, VinFast remains focused on scaling up its production capabilities to meet growing demand.

A significant milestone for VinFast, the upcoming project in Ha Tinh is being spearheaded by Vinhomes Ha Tinh Industrial Park Investment JSC, a subsidiary of Vingroup, VinFast's parent company. The plant will be operated by VinFast under a long-term lease agreement, underscoring the company's dedication to expanding its presence in the global EV market. This latest endeavor further solidifies VinFast's position as a key player in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle industry.
