Amidst escalating trade tensions with the United States, China has implemented export controls on rare earths, a crucial mineral resource, as part of its retaliatory measures. However, the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association has issued a statement asserting that these restrictions will not jeopardize the stability of the international supply chain.
China, known as the world's largest producer and exporter of rare earths, aims to safeguard its national sovereignty and security through these actions. The association emphasized that as long as companies comply with the regulations and do not undermine China's interests, their operations and trade will remain unaffected.
Furthermore, the trade body highlighted that the export control measures will not disrupt the normal functioning of global industrial and supply chains. This reassurance from China comes at a time of heightened uncertainty in the international trade landscape, as countries navigate the ramifications of trading restrictions and tariffs.
