Under this ambitious plan, an estimated 1 million batteries will be installed, enabling them to store solar power for utilization when needed. Despite the prevalence of rooftop solar systems, with around 4 million installations across the country, the adoption of home batteries remains limited, with only one in 40 households currently equipped with this technology. By incentivizing the uptake of batteries, the government aims to reduce reliance on the grid, subsequently alleviating peak demand and driving down energy prices for all consumers.
