Several media organizations had filed a request for the names to be released, despite Santos's argument that making the identities public could harm his guarantors.

Santos is facing charges of fraud and identity theft. He was released on a $500,000 bond, with the three individuals serving as his guarantors.

The unsealing of the identities of the three individuals was ordered by the federal judge overseeing Santos's case. However, the congressman has been granted until June 9 to appeal the decision.

The release of the identities may shed light on the congressman's connections and financial support, which could be pivotal in the ongoing case against him. The names could also be used to further investigate any potential conflicts of interest or unethical practices related to Santos's political career.
