Italy's former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has been hospitalized in Milan just three weeks after being discharged from his previous treatment. The news was announced by the Ansa news agency on Friday. Berlusconi, the founder of the Forza Italia party and media tycoon, is reported to not currently be in intensive care, according to Rai state television.
Berlusconi, who is now 86 years old, has recently completed a six-week long therapy for a pulmonary infection that was linked to chronic leukemia. However, the representative for the Milan area hospital didn't provide any comment on his current condition.
Berlusconi is Italy's longest-serving Prime Minister, having led the government for over nine years, head of four different cabinets. Despite his career being plagued by sex scandals, blunders, and even accusations of corruption and mafia links, Berlusconi has made a name for himself as a public figure who can always manage to come back from adversity.
This isn't the first time he has been hospitalized. In the past, Berlusconi has undergone various surgeries and received treatments for serious medical issues. However, despite his frequent health problems, he has always been able to bounce back.
Berlusconi is still considered to be a significant public figure in Italy, and his hospitalization has already caught the attention of the media. The country is wishing him a speedy recovery, and many are looking forward to seeing him back in good health.
