North Korea has claimed to have successfully tested an underwater drone named the "Haeil-2 Unmanned Underwater Nuclear Attack Boat" that is allegedly capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. According to the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the drone was tested off North Korea's east coast and cruised for over 71 hours before the test warhead was detonated underwater.
This is the second time in weeks that North Korea has claimed to have tested a nuclear-capable drone, having announced the test of the Haeil-1 in March. However, analysts have cast doubt on the claims, noting that North Korea has a history of exaggerating its capabilities.
