The problem lies with the transmission control valve in these vehicles, which has the potential to fail. If this occurs, it could lead to the rear wheels locking up, significantly elevating the risk of a collision. Recognizing the severity of this issue, GM has outlined a comprehensive plan to address the problem.

To rectify the situation, GM dealers will implement a new transmission control module software at no cost to the customers. Moreover, the company will introduce a special coverage program to address any transmissions that are found to contain a faulty control valve. As an added precaution, GM has instructed its dealers to cease the delivery of the affected vehicles immediately.

This proactive approach by GM highlights their commitment to ensuring the safety and satisfaction of their customers. By swiftly addressing the transmission issue and implementing necessary solutions, GM aims to uphold its reputation for quality and reliability within the automotive industry.
