According to Antenna's estimates, approximately 2.6 million people in the US signed up for Netflix in July. While Antenna does not provide exact numbers, it is considered a reliable proxy for user growth. Despite a 26% decline compared to June's surge in new additions, Netflix outperformed other paid streaming services, solidifying its position as the top choice for American viewers.

Interestingly, 23% of the new sign-ups were for Netflix's ad-supported plan, which was introduced in November. This initiative, along with the crackdown on password sharing, is crucial for revitalizing user growth at the company. After experiencing a decline in subscribers during the first half of last year, Netflix's strategy seems to be paying off.

In the second quarter, Netflix reported a net addition of 1.17 million new customers in the US and Canada. As a result, the total number of paid memberships in the region surpassed 75 million. These figures highlight the streaming giant's continued dominance in the North American market.

Despite facing growing competition from other streaming services, Netflix's ability to attract new subscribers demonstrates its strong position in the industry. By proactively addressing issues like password sharing and offering more affordable plans, Netflix is showing its commitment to meeting consumer demands and maintaining steady growth. As the streaming landscape evolves, it will be interesting to see how Netflix adapts to retain its position as a leading provider of high-quality entertainment.
