In a strategic move to enhance customer loyalty and convenience, Ryanair has unveiled a new annual subscription service named "prime" that offers a range of benefits for frequent flyers. Priced at 79 euros per year, the membership includes perks such as reserved seating, insurance coverage, and access to monthly seat sales. With an initial cap of 250,000 members, the budget airline stands to generate substantial annual revenue of 19.75 million euros if the service reaches full capacity.
This innovative offering follows in the footsteps of competitor Wizz Air, which introduced the successful "MultiPass" subscription service last year. The Wizz Air service allows customers to secure the price of one flight per month at a fixed rate, with additional options for checked-in bags and priority status. Notably, eDreams ODIGEO, a Spanish online travel booking company, also offers a "prime" service with features like discounted rates, ticket refunds, and the ability to reserve tickets at a specific price point.
By joining the subscription service trend in the airline industry, Ryanair aims to deepen customer engagement, drive customer retention, and differentiate itself in a highly competitive market. With its unique value proposition and attractive benefits, the "prime" subscription service is poised to resonate well with frequent travelers seeking added convenience and cost savings.
